Living With Adi

This is the story of Adi, somewhere on the autism spectrum, bullied in school, loved by his family. Narrated from the perspective of several characters, and with an undertone of humour, the convoluted life of the Krishnan family unravels crisis to crisis. Adi, with his interest in snakes, love for reading, is delightfully etched.

A Melody in Mysore

A beautifully descriptive historical novel set in 1932, around 12-year old Leela and her life in Mysore. The details are never boring and contribute enormously to the world building. The story also delves into the changing attitudes of people towards British Rule at a pivotal moment in the freedom movement. In today’s context, this title makes for an essential read that helps us think of the many ways that contributed to achieve the freedom of self-governance and how different parts of the country imagined and participated in it.
